Wedding guests

Last night was the wedding of one of my wife's best friends. It was a really good night and a great way of observing people's behaviour. There seem to be three types of people at a wedding, the networker, the partygoer and the drinker.

The networker's main aim of the evening is face time. Shake as many hands and eat as many canapés as possible. The networking can either be social or business related, but whatever the reason, the wedding is a simple sideshow to this person's enjoyment of he evening. They would prefer a business card or a good chat ahead of a piece of wedding cake.

The partygoer is a relative of the networker, keen to chat, but also keen to have a drink and a dance. Whether it is the YMCA or Blame it on the Boogie, this person is guaranteed to be leading if not stealing the microphone. On this subject, has anyone ever notice the dance moves in Blame it on the Boogie are a bit inconsistent. The moves for don't blame it on the sunshine and moonlight sree pretty clear, but when it comes to the question of blaming it on good times or the boogie, there seem to be discrepancies. Both moves include hip swinging and look strangely similar, so are we blaming it on the good times ir the boogie?

Anyway, the last stereotype is the drunk, the first and last person at the bar. This person will hug and kiss everyone and ensure they get in every dance off and in every photo and video clip as possible. They can verge from the funny to the slightly embarassing.

There is also the bad dancer but this person is often less common and gets lost in a sea of partygoers and drunks.

It doesnt matter which one of these you are. On their own, each of these people would make a boring party, but together it makes a recipe for a great night, as long as each one remembers the real reason they bare there is for the bride and bridgegroom, oh and the free food.
